Is everyone in church on Easter?

No, not by a long shot. But it is one of those times of the year where so many people who otherwise wouldn't go to church will go... because it's Easter. And not that someone sitting in a church building on Easter Sunday means a darn thing in and of itself, but the opportunity it presents for God to work in that person's heart is HUGE. And that's why at I-90 we see this Easter as an incredible opportunity to share the message of Christ with many people we may otherwise not have that opportunity with... and if they have a positive experience that is relevant to their life, they may just come back. Ultimately, it's not about filling seats; it's about God changing hearts. And we're praying He will do that in many people this Easter at I-90 and in churches throughout the world.

As you contemplate inviting others to I-90 this Easter, keep in mind what they will experience:
  • A friendly, laid-back, casual environment

  • A short service!

  • GREAT music (our band is awesome)

  • An incredible experience for kids - a big egg hunt, bouncing in the KidzBounce giant inflatables, loving teachers and workers who will inspire them to know and love God

  • A humorous, engaging message that will dis-mantle some of the old-school stereotypes about Jesus and religion and clearly present what true Christianity is all about (we're pumped for our new series "Losing My Religion")
So...

Pray for your friends and neighbors who need to know the love and grace of God in their lives.

Invest in their lives this week through a phone call, email or quick cup of coffee

And invite them to church this Sunday for Easter!

We'll see you then. -Dave

I-90 Partners - Shining as Lights

On Sunday we wrapped up our I-90 Partners series and study of Philippians by looking at the final commitment an "I-90 Partner" makes - to shine as lights in a dark world. Because let's face it, the world could use a little more light, couldn't it?

So how do you shine and partner with I-90 to make a difference? Find out by listening to Part 4 of our I-90 Partners series by clicking here or visiting our media page.

And stay tuned this week for some exciting information about our Easter celebration coming up on Sunday and new series, Losing My Religion.

I-90 Partners - Eternal Investments

On Sunday we dug further into our I-90 Partners series and study of Philippians by looking specifically at two of the commitments an "I-90 Partner" makes - service to others and generous financial giving. Why are these so crucial to partnering in the gospel? Check out the message "Eternal Investments" to find out.

To listen to Part 3 of our I-90 Partners series, click here or visit our media page.

And don't miss the conclusion to our I-90 Partners series this Sunday at 10am when we'll be looking at the final commitment of partnership with the message, "Shining as Lights." Hope to see you then.

I-90 Partners - To Live is Christ

We continued our I-90 Partners series and study of Philippians on Sunday by asking the question, "just what exactly is the message of Jesus Christ that we're trying to share with others?" Because the mission we're challening you to partner with us on is to share the message of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible along the I-90 corridor and beyond. But if those of us who call I-90 CC home don't understand and live the message ourselves, we'll likely be ineffective in spreading it to others. And as we learned together on Sunday, what a message it is!

I-90 Partners - Partners in the Gospel

As I mentioned on the blog yesterday, we started a new series at I-90 on Sunday called "I-90 Partners." If you missed Sunday's service, or if you're keeping up with us from afar but want to know how to pray for and support what God is doing here, I encourage you to listen to this message and all the messages throughout this series in the month of March.

Partnership

This past Sunday we started "I-90 Partners," a new 4-week teaching series on the book of Philippians that will help us gain an understanding of what it means to partner with a local church for the sake of advancing the mission Jesus has given all of his followers... the mission to help others know and become like him.

And with this series we're giving everyone at I-90 an opportunity to become an I-90 Partner... i.e. to partner specifically with I-90 CC to help advance Jesus' mission along the I-90 corridor and beyond.

Why "partners" and not "members"? Because we don't want this to be about "our" church and what you or I or anyone else can get out of it. It's about something much bigger than that... it's about linking arms with a local church for the sake of spreading the message of Jesus to as many people as possible in our community and around the world.

Specifically, partnership at I-90 CC consists of a commitment to the following:
  • Regular Sunday attendance and participation in I-90 Groups
  • Service to others with an I-90 Team
  • Faithful and generous financial giving
  • Living a relational, "invest and invite" lifestyle outside of the church (building relationships with people in one's sphere of influence and inviting them to come and experience an I-90 service)

As we study the book of Philippians throughout this month as a church we'll learn more about these different "partnership" commitments and how God wants to use each of us to make a huge difference in our world. And as we do we'll continue to give everyone who has made I-90 their church home the opportunity to make that difference by becoming an I-90 Partner.

Do you attend I-90 and want to learn more about I-90 Partners? Drop me an email and let me know.

I-90 Partners

Hey everyone - this Sunday is the beginning of a new series that we're praying will be monumental in the life of our young church. "I-90 Partners" will look at how all of us as individuals and families can partner with I-90 CC to truly make a difference in our world through advancing Christ's mission along the I-90 corridor and beyond. For those of us who have made I-90 their church home, this is an exciting time to link arms and jump all in with what God wants to do through our church. Though God has already done some incredible things among us, it's only a small taste of what is to come and we want everyone to be on board and fully experience the adventure we're on.

In addition to the teaching series itself (which will take us through the book of Philippians) and the accompanying opportunity for our regular attenders to become our first wave of "I-90 Partners," March is also a huge month for us as we're planning on having our first opportunity for baptisms on March 28th, and as we look ahead to Easter Sunday on April 4th which is the best opportunity of the entire year to invite our friends and neighbors to "come and see Jesus" at our church.

This is an incredible time for us at I-90 and for all of God's Kingdom here on the Eastside, and I invite you to partner with us as we keep advancing the mission.

Simply Marriage - My Big Fat Greek Marriage

We ended a great five-week journey on the topic of marriage this past Sunday with the talk "My Big Fat Greek Marriage" - looking at how a great marriage must be lived out in the context of a broader support system than just the couple itself.

To listen to the final installment of our Simply Marriage series, click here or visit our media page.

If you're married and would like to tap into a broader support system for your relationship, one way is to attend a great marriage conference. The team at I-90 recommends FamilyLife's "A Weekend to Remember" conference coming to Redmond, WA on April 30-May 2, and to Bellevue, WA on May 14-16. Click here to learn more about the conference and register.
